New product swapping, Automated Shopify Product Catalog syncing, and Pay on Invoice for subscriptions

Pay on Invoice for Shopify Subscriptions

Give your customers even more flexibility to pay for subscription orders. With Pay on Invoice, they can complete checkout and pay later when they receive their order.
This is especially useful for markets where post-payment is the norm, such as Germany.

For merchants, it means better conversion and opening up new B2B opportunities.

  • Add an invoice in the box (with QR code if you want)

  • Or send a payment link by email — it’s up to you (and them)

  • You can even create subscriptions manually via the Firmhouse Portal for “over the phone” or B2B sales

Alternatively, you can also add subscriptions manually via the Firmhouse Portal. This subscription payment method is perfectly suitable for “over the phone” and B2B sales.

How Pay on Invoice works

  1. Customers choose Pay on Invoice at checkout.

  2. They confirm their billing details.

  3. You ship the order and include invoice or payment details.

  4. The order stays “pending payment” in Shopify until paid or marked as paid.

  5. Each billing cycle generates a new pending payment order automatically.

Swap products between variants in My Account

Your customers can now easily switch between product options or variants, without going through separate flows of removing and adding a product. Now it's just a swap.

It’s faster, clearer, and keeps subscriptions flexible.

Manage Subscriptions inside Shopify’s new Customer Accounts

You can now add a "Your subscriptions" section to the Orders page of the new-style Shopify Customer Account Portal. This gives your customers a quick overview of the subscriptions they have and their next order dates. A "Manage your subscriptions" button takes them straight into the Firmhouse Subscription My Account portal without having to log in again.

Just head over into the Shopify Theme customizer, Go to Checkout and customer accounts, find the Apps icon to the left, and add the Manage Firmhouse Subscription block to the Orders page.

Enable new features via the Admin Portal

We’ve added a new page in your menu: New Features. On this page, you can find new features we are working on or have just released and enable them for your store.

Automated Product Catalog Sync

Syncing your products between Shopify and Firmhouse just got a whole lot easier. With Automatic Product Syncing, you can now instantly load your Shopify products into Firmhouse, without having to run synchronizations manually.

Just tag your products in Shopify with FIRMHOUSE_SUBSCRIPTION or FIRMHOUSE_ONE_TIME and they will automatically get added and updated in Firmhouse.

Note: This is the default for all new Shopify stores on Firmhouse. Existing merchants still have to use the regular Shopify Product sync. We’d like to migrate you to the new catalog syncing as soon as possible! Get in touch with our team if you want to skip the line!

Improvements & fixes

  • Exporting a report will now remember which columns you selected when generating the report.

  • All pages in the Firmhouse Subscription My Account now show localized and translated product titles and images.

  • The Subscription object in the GraphQL API now exposes the referrer_code DiscountCode that can be used to share.

  • Fixed issue where modifying the subscription frequency was still possible even though this was disabled in the Self Service Center settings.

  • Cleaned up various styling issues with dropdowns and data tables in the Firmhouse admin portal.

  • New Shopify store installations will now default to the behavior that SEPA orders are only pushed to Shopify when paid.
